Tanzania's Delegation Understudy NLA'S Transformational Agenda

Tanzania's Delegation Understudy NLA'S Transformational Agenda

A high powered delegation from Tanzania visited the National Lottery Authority to understudy the transformational agenda taking place at the Authority. This form part of the efforts of Tanzania's Government to restructure and transform the Lottery business and operations in Tanzania.

The delegation was well received by the Management of the National Lottery Authority.  The Business Development Committee of NLA took the Tanzanians through a series of presentations and discussions on the history, change management processes, business models and initiatives of the Authority.

After the meeting with the Business Development Committee of NLA, the Tanzanians were educated by Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, Director-General of NLA on the transformational agenda of the Authority which include the following:

1. *E-kiosk Concept*
The E-Kiosk is one of the top-notch business models of the Authority. The E-Kiosk project has absolutely no financial burden on the Authority and Government. It is a Private Initiative in collaboration with the National Lottery Authority. The Private Sector is responsible for the financial arrangements for the E-kiosk. The E-Kiosk project has gone through all the neccessary legal proceedings and arrangements awaiting for the full implementation across Ghana and beyond.

The E-Kiosk would offer a wide range of services such as Banking, Mobile Money, Courier services, Remittance, payments of Water bills, Electricity bills, DSTV/Television Fees etc.

The E-kiosk project will partner State Institutions such as NABCO, YEA, Ghana Post, Ghana Revenue Authority, One District One Factory Secretariat, MMDAs and Members of Parliament in its implementation.

The successful implementation of the E-Kiosk Project will triple the revenue generation of the National Lottery Authority.

2. *NLA-VAG Collaboration*

Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw explained to the Tanzanians that in order to have a uniform regulation and supervision, the National Lottery Authority at point wanted to push for the repealing of  the VAG Act 844 and Gaming Act 721 so that all forms of lottery and games of chance would be under the National Lottery Authority.  The Gaming Commission of Ghana established under the Gaming Act 721 is under the Ministry of Interior whereas the Veterans Administration Ghana established under the VAG Act 844 is under the Ministry of Defence.

However, the Ministry of Defence in agreement with the Board of National Lottery Authority and Veterans Administration Ghana decided to collaborate beneficially to both Institutions instead of repealing the Act 844.

In accordance with the agreement between the NLA and VAG, the National Lottery Authority will very soon launch and subsequently start the operations of the NLA-VAG Lottery to the benefit of  Government, Veterans, NLA and potential customers.

3. *End to illegal Lottery*
The Director-General, Kofi Osei-Ameyaw further explained that, one of the nightmares of the Authority is illegal Lottery  and that the NLA supported by Association of Lotto Marketing Companies many times caused the arrest and prosecution of the illegal lotto operators, agents and writers. However, due to resource constraints, political pressure and interferences there were no appropriate sanctions meted out to the illegal lotto operators, agents and writers. Also most of the illegal lotto operators and agents were operating with license provided by the Veterans Administration Ghana under Act 844 which empowered the Veterans to engage in raffles or Lottery to the realization of economic and financial empowerment to the Veterans.

The National Lottery Authority under NPP Government has adopted a more innovative and pragmatic approach to address illegal lottery operations in Ghana through registration, validation and granting of license to Banker to Banker Lotto Operators, Agents and Writers who are able to satisfy all the requirements of the National Lottery Authority.

4. *Self-financing Business Model of NLA and Payments to the Consolidated Fund*

The National Lottery Authority since its establishment has been running on a Self-financing business model without Government funds.

The Authority is responsible for the generation of it's own revenue for the administration, operations and overall management of NLA.

The Authority is responsible for the payments of its  employees and Service Providers.

NLA is also mandated by the law under Act 722 to pay monies to  Government through the Consolidated Fund for National Development.

The Tanzanians were highly impressed about the delivery of Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw and they recommended to him to assist the Tanzanian Government to restructure and transform Lottery Business and operations in Tanzania. According to the delegation, their Government is ever ready to understudy and implement the business models and initiatives introduced by Kofi Osei-Ameyaw and the Board of NLA.

Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw on behalf of the Board and Management also assured the Tanzanian delegation that, NLA is prepared for  cooperation, collaboration and that the Authority will assist the Tanzanian Government to restructure and transform Lottery business and operations in Tanzania.

The Tanzanian delegation led by Mr. Amon A. Mpanju(Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs) was made up of  Sande H. Mnozya(Principal Human Resource Officer, Ministry of Finance and Planning), Elias D. Mwandobo(Counsellor, Tanzania High Commission, Abuja, Nigeria), Hangi M. NDC Is Currently Suffering From A Lack Of Quality Human Resource to Steer The Affairs of The Party... CVM

Scarcity of Human Resource has given an Opportunity to a Fool to be Elected as  National Communication Officer of NDC.

The National Democratic Congress is currently suffering from a lack of quality human resource to steer the affairs of the party.

The noise of Okudzeto Ablakwa, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Fiifi Kwetey, Omane Boamah and the rest could not save the NDC in 2016 how much more a political neophyte as the National Communication Officer for the NDC.

The voice of NDC's National  Communication Officer aka the Noisemaker was in existence during the 2016 General Election roaming from one media house to the  other but yet still NDC and John Mahama had 44.4%.

The inexperienced National Communication Officer of the NDC is trying very hard without the full knowledge and understanding of capital markets, money markets and investment to politicize the Menzgold Saga.

I doubt if the Ghanaian voters will buy into such a silly assumption by the National Communication Officer of the NDC.

President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party have absolutely nothing to do with Nana Appiah Mensah. For avoidance of doubt  NPP's  Government was never responsible for granting a  license to NAM 1 to start the operations of Menzgold in Ghana.

The firmness and seriousness of President Akufo-Addo's Government has rather discontinued the alleged Ponzi scheme by NAM1 licensed by  John Mahama's Government.

If John Mahama and NDC's  Government were serious about good governance and financial stability of the State, NAM 1 would not have gotten the opportunity to start the business in the first place.

All Ponzi schemes in Ghana starts under the NDC Government simply because members of the NDC Government are totally ignorant about Capital Markets, Money Markets and Financial Markets in general.

The National Communication Officer of NDC is just shouting, hallucinating and politically masturbating about the issues of Menzgold Monster created by John Mahama's Government.

It's sad to note that, the National Communications Officer of the NDC could not propose a single sensible solution to the issues of Menzgold. It was all about shouting,  shouting, shouting, absolutely no sense.

For Ghanaians to take NDC serious as a credible alternative Political Party, they have to start giving the opportunity and platform to sensible Party Leaders to address issues affecting the wellbeing of the Nation.

Menzgold's Saga can never win Power for the NDC in 2020.

President Akufo-Addo's Government is committed under the laws of Ghana together with due diligence to address the concerns of Menzgold's customers.

....Signed....

Hon. Maxwell Kofi Jumah CEO of Gihoc Distilleries Ltd. Praises for Increasing Staff Salaries.

Why I think Hon. Maxwell Kofi Jumah MD of Gihoc Distilleries Ltd is the best CEO for 2018.

Gihoc which was at the verge of collapse is now the most lucrative Government enterprise.

Hon. Jumah has spearheaded the  increase of staff salaries of workers such that, all Gihoc staff earn above 1,000ghc and this is unprecedented amongst the Ghanaian alcoholic beverage companies.

He has also ingeniously repackaged our locally brewed Apeteshie such that it is now selling on the international market. All the raw materials for producing the innovative Apeteshie drink is sourced from Ghana. This has helped improve the nations employment rate.

During the leadership of Hon. Jumah, Gihoc products are now No.1 in Liberia.

Then again, without  any financial assistance from Government, he has been able to reintroduce Gihoc's meridian mineral water into the market.

Hon. Jumah is also the only MD that physically participates in all of the company's marketing programmes to listen to information reaching the general public on the grounds.

His tenure has out doored GIHOC cocktails which serves as a massive form of marketing for the company in diverse social gatherings.

2016 YEA Beneficiaries Cries Out For Their Arrears And Unpaid Exist Fund..1st In News.

HUNGRY AND ANGRY BENEFICIARIES  OF THE  NATIONAL YOUTH EMPLOYMENT ENROLLED IN 2016 CRY FOR THEIR ARREARS AND UNPAID EXIST FUND.

We beneficiaries of the national youth employment agency wish to express our grievances through this press release to register our displeasure about the unfair and inhuman treatment meted out to us by the management of YEA.

We have tried all avenues to air our concern  but it proved futile and most of us are sick and tired of  how adamant management is in releasing our exit funds to us.                                                       lt is stated in our engagement letters that, a beneficiary of YEA in the 2016 YEA intake will receive a monthly allowance of two hundred and fifty Ghana CEDI's(GH¢250.00) without any statutory deductions. An amount of forty five Ghana CEDI's(GH¢45.00) would be paid monthly into a beneficiary exit fund  and would be made accessible to us at the end of our engagement. And GH¢5.00 as insurance premium.
The unfortunate aspect of this whole drama is that the promised exit fund is subjected to selective payment and back door payment, which they termed as batches. We have served our nation  wholeheartedly with all our might and strength, but there is no sign that our widows mite would be paid.          Beneficiaries  are in different modules with different starting time. Some started in  May,2016 others June,July, August in that order. The different module employment were supposed to end in 2018  depending on the the time of engagement. The various modules employment  has come to an end, some seven months now, but the said exit fund has not been paid. Anytime we plan on a demonstration they will announce to us that payment has been done, we will rush to the banks and it will be a few people that has been paid.                           They also owe most us many months of arrears which they have refuse to pay and told us the number of months a beneficiary received allowance is the number of months calculated for their exit  package meanwhile they deliberately refuse to pay us those months and not that we didn't work.                                        They even promised to pay an interest on our exit fund , the percentage as interest was not disclosed, beneficiaries who are paid didn't receive any interest. If they are unwilling to pay the interest, our meagre exit  entitlement should be paid.                                    Another problem too is that they refused to pay CETA module their last month allowance which is September with their reason that, base on their checks,it shows CETA beneficiaries were paid for the month of September,2016 which means if they pay us for the month of September,2018 it will be 25 months instead of 24 months. Meanwhile we also started on 14th October,2016 which means we will end  14th October,2018.             Management of YEA can not tell us there is no money for them to pay us because we are not now working, we have already worked for those months and our money has been paid in our exit fund, why won't they release it at once for us and they have to pay in batches.                  We beneficiaries have realized that YEA management led by Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong is reluctant in the payment of our exit fund and we can't sit down unconcern, fold arms and watch our hard earn labour go like that.                                We want to inform management through this communiqué of press release that 15th January,2019 as deadline, if nothing is done we would take action, we do not care the consequence. This time we are no more going for demonstration but we will lock up all YEA offices to show that they are unable to do their work work therefore government have to review the whole management of YEA. They should mark our words.

Written by hungry and angry beneficiaries.

All What Assin People Know Is "Thank you, Thank you Shame on Them"...Hon. Ken.

ALL WHAT ASSIN PEOPLE KNOW IS  "THANK YOU! THANK YOU SHAME ON THEM"...HON. KEN

The outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) member of Parliament (MP) for Assin central constituency, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has vociferously displayed his disappointment about the behavior of the people of Assin.

According to the fullthroated MP, what he has done for the people of Assin is countless, but the Assin people pretend to see nothing good about his efforts to lift Assin to its highest level, His people are not helping and in a way not recognizing his efforts that much.

The plain spoken MP at a durbar of Gomoa Afransi this year's festival stated it emphatically that he donated only 300 bags of cement (in Ken's estimation, 10, 000.00gh, the amount of money involved is not all that much) and few other supports to Gomoa Afransi township During this year's festival, but to Hon Ken, this small amount he gave them was highly recognised and appreciated to the extent that, a newly built multi purpose Community center has been named after Hon. Ken. The bold Hon. Ken, nearly wept when the chief, Nana Ogyeedom and his people honoured the Maverick MP Hon Ken this way.
