Police in the Ashanti Region have picked up three persons in connection with a gang rape video that has gone viral on social media.
The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ashanti Regional Police Command has invited the 18-year old victim to assist in investigations.
Citi News sources say the victim is currently at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital undergoing medical examination.
The incident which happened at Bantama, a suburb of Kumasi, showed an underage girl in video pinned to a mattress by on of her abusers while other members of the gang took turns in the sexual.
The video shows the victim struggling to resist her abusers from continuing the act.
Speaking to Citi News, Assembly Member for the Bantama Electoral area, Kwame Ofori wants the police to bring the culprits to order to serve as a deterrent to others.
Meanwhile police officers are on the manhunt to arrest other members of the gang.
